William Maier, DVM
Dr. Maier is a native of Batavia, NY, graduating from Batavia High School in 1965. He studied pre-med at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, graduating in 1969 with a BS degree in Biology. Dr. Maier was admitted to the NYS College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University and received his DVM degree in 1973. Following graduation, Dr. Maier became a staff veterinarian at Brunswick Veterinary Hospital in Brunswick, ME. After 2 years ‘down east’, he returned to the Rochester area and practiced at Perinton Veterinary Hospital for 3 years.
Dr. Maier has been a general practitioner at Penfield Veterinary Hospital since May 1978 and has a special interest in surgery. He has been a long-time member of the Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine as well as other continuing education programs.
Some of Dr. Maier’s interests include boating, long walks with his dog, Gracie, reading, sports, the RPO and growing roses.
Dr. Maier and his wife Anne Marie were married in 1971 and have four sons, Brian, Matthew, Thomas and Joseph.
